Emma Watson Returns to the Carpet

Emma Watson has been notably absent from the public eye, particularly on red carpets, with her last prominent appearance during the promotion of "Little Women." Her inclination toward privacy existed even before the pandemic, stemming from a desire to step away from the spotlight after a childhood in constant view. However, she recently made a return at the Earthshot Prize ceremony in London, sporting a unique outfit that garnered attention.

Her attire, seemingly a fluffy white dress at first glance, incorporated a surprising element: underneath, she wore pants paired with lug sole boots. While the footwear choice received positive feedback, opinions on the wide-leg pants varied. Nevertheless, the focal point was the sustainable aspect of her dress-top, crafted by Oxfam from ten upcycled wedding dresses, aligning well with the event's spirit and resonating with her previous eco-conscious fashion choices.

At the Earthshot Prize ceremony, where Prince William and Kate were esteemed guests, attendees were encouraged not to buy new attire. Kate, known for her frequent recycling of outfits, adorned herself in a McQueen ensemble first seen in 2011, while William opted for a suave look—a green velvet jacket (Reiss, 2019) layered over a black turtleneck, drawing comparisons to the stylish demeanor of James Bond.

However, stealing the spotlight was Emma Thompson, whose attire stood out for its simplicity. She expressed relief at not having to conjure up a new outfit for the occasion, donning a blue suit. Yet, the true highlight was her voluminous and lively hair, a striking feature that captured attention amidst the event's fashion choices.
