Emma watson

Emma Watson, born on April 15, 1990, in Paris, France, is recognized as both a talented actress and a passionate advocate for women’s equality. Her journey into the spotlight began with her iconic portrayal of Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series. Born to British parents who later divorced, Watson, along with her brother, moved to Oxford shire, England, with their mother during her youth. Even in her early years, she had set her sights on acting, immersing herself in acting and singing classes while participating in school plays.

Post her remarkable tenure in the Harry Potter films, Watson sought more mature roles, marking her transition into different genres. Notable among these was her role in "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" (2012), portraying a high-school senior forming a bond with a depressed freshman. Subsequently, she appeared in various films such as "The Bling Ring" (2013), "The Colony" (2015), and "The Circle" (2017), though these didn’t achieve widespread box-office success. Nonetheless, her portrayal of Belle in Disney's live-action adaptation of "Beauty and the Beast" (2017) became a blockbuster hit. Her performance as Meg March in "Little Women" (2019) further cemented her reputation as a versatile actress.

Beyond her acting career, Watson pursued higher education, commencing her studies at Brown University in 2009. Despite interruptions for filming commitments and a year spent at the University of Oxford, she completed her bachelor's degree in English literature at Brown in 2014. During this time, she was appointed a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, leveraging her platform to advocate for women’s rights and gender equality.

Parallel to her acting and activism, Watson initiated the Our Shared Shelf feminist book club from 2016 to 2020. This online community engaged in reading and discussing literature by and about women, solidifying Watson's commitment to fostering dialogue on gender-related issues.
